WisDOT Road Construction on Center Avenue Near Delavan Drive

Post Date:07/09/2026 9:02 am

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) will be completing critical maintenance work on Center Avenue near the Delavan Drive intersection to improve the current roadway surface and bridge conditions until a future project replaces the bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) and implements permanent improvements at the Delavan Drive intersection.

This year’s project will include bridge maintenance/deck overlay of the UPRR bridge, spot curb and gutter replacement, sidewalk curb ramp replacements, structure repairs, pavement repairs, and roadway resurfacing with an asphalt surface. The work is scheduled to begin on Monday, July 13, with a completion anticipated for late September.Traffic on Center Avenue will be maintained in stages with a single lane in each direction for much of the project. Left turns onto and off Delavan Drive will be prohibited during construction, and short-term closures and flagging operations will be required at times. Additional project information is available on WisDOT’s project website

Community members can contact Kevin Saxe, Construction Project Manager with Batterman, at ksaxe@rhbatterman.com to be added to the weekly construction update email list or if they have any questions.
