The Janesville Classic Cruzers Car Club is a group of men and women who enjoy participating in car shows and events. They host many car shows at different locations around Janesville to show off their own cars and view others. Starting in the summer of 2016, club members gathered to cruise the circuit downtown to remember the days they had cruised together decades before. These cruise nights are not just limited to those who cruised in their younger days, but are open to anyone wanting to spend a night driving around downtown with friends. Many people gather to drive the circuit or sit on the sidelines and enjoy the view during these summer cruises.
Downtown Janesville, Inc’s (DJI) mission is to revitalize the downtown area through business retention, business expansion, building renovation, historic rehabilitation, and redevelopment. On Top of Downtown is a fundraiser to support their mission. The event is held on the first Thursday of the month, June through August, on top of the parking structure downtown on North Parker Drive. There was an average of 134 attendees at each of these events during the summer of 2016. Come enjoy food, beverages, and live music with friends and colleagues after work!
The Rock County Fairgrounds is in the heart of Janesville and offers an outdoor grandstand that seats up to 2,200 people. There are many events held here throughout the year including the annual Rock County 4-H Fair. This is the oldest 4-H fair in the United States and offers entertainment from farm animals to carnival games and rides. They showcase students’ talent from local schools through their art designs, photography, baking, and more. Animals are on the grounds for viewing and judging all week long during the fair. Each year the fair brings in different musical artists to perform during the evenings in the grandstands.
The Rock County Historical Society holds many fun and exciting events year round for every age group. Some of the exciting events they hold are the Easter Egg Hunt, Spirits of the Night, May the Fourth Celebration, Murder & Mayhem, Sunday Dinner: A Farm to Table Feast, and a Pokemon Go Historical Walk.
